Do you need foundation repair services?
Bowing, shearing, and tilting are caused by external pressure to the outside of the wall. This pressure puts stress on your basement walls and may eventually cause them to crack and weaken.
Bowing can be difficult to see, so look for the following signs:
- Floors that are not level
- Cracks in the walls that are wider at the top than at the bottom
- Cracks in the plaster and/or drywall
- Cracks in the brickwork and/or caulking
- Doors, cabinets, and windows that do not shut properly
- Outside chimneys and/or porches that lean
Bowing will cause the walls to shear away from the foundation, making the structure unstable. If not corrected, the foundation wall will eventually fail, affecting the structural integrity of the building.
Solutions for Your Walls
At Ideal Basement Waterproofing, our professionals use the Fortress Stabilization System to permanently repair structural problems in concrete block and poured foundations.
For bowed walls, we use the Carbon-Kevlar strap from Fortress to keep the wall from bowing even more. This Carbon-Kevlar strap is over four times stronger than steel, and the patented Epoxy Rivet Technology guarantees the strongest adherence to the wall.
For sheared walls, we attach a Fortress bottom anchor to the Carbon-Kevlar strap. It anchors below the slab and into foundation to keep the foundation from sliding.
For tilting walls, we attach a Fortress top anchor to the Carbon-Kevlar strap. The Fortress top anchor is fastened to the rim joist to ensure the strongest anchor point possible. This prevents any movement of the basement wall.
